Who we are
Oakline Media (“Oakline”, “we”) runs advertising for home-improvement suppliers and dealers. We're based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. You can reach us at [email protected]. This policy explains what personal information we handle, why, and your choices. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial laws.
Information we collect on this website
- Contact details you give us when you book a call, email us or sign up: your name, business name, email, phone and website.
- Billing details when you buy a plan. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Login information for client accounts (your email address and a secure session cookie).
- Basic technical data our hosting provider logs automatically, such as IP address and browser type, used for security and troubleshooting.
We don't sell personal information, and this website doesn't use advertising cookies.
Information we handle for our clients
When we run campaigns for a client, homeowners interact with that client's design studio (provided by StoneSwap Inc.) and with ads on Meta, Google and YouTube. In that work we act on our client's behalf as a service provider. Homeowner information collected through a client's studio belongs to that client and is governed by the client's and StoneSwap's privacy policies. We access it only to run, measure and report on the client's campaigns, and only where the homeowner has agreed to share it.
Conversion data sent to ad platforms is sent server-side by the studio, and in places that require consent (including Quebec) only for people who have opted in.
How we use information
- To respond to you, provide our services, and manage client accounts.
- To bill for services and keep financial records.
- To measure and improve campaign results for our clients.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Who we share it with
Trusted providers that help us run the business, under contracts that require them to protect it: Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and login), DigitalOcean (hosting), Google Workspace (email), and the ad platforms we manage on your behalf. Some providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. StoneSwap Inc. receives client names and management fees for clients it introduced to us, under our partner agreement.
How long we keep it
We keep client and billing records for as long as you're a client and then as long as the law requires (generally seven years for tax records). Enquiries that don't become clients are deleted within two years.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw consent, by emailing [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls and reputable providers to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and we'll notify affected people and authorities of any breach as the law requires.
Changes
We'll update this page if our practices change and revise the date above.
